57 new COVID cases take J&K tally to 1,24,506

JAMMU: A total of 57 new COVID-19 cases were recorded in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday which pushed the infection tally to 1,24,506, officials said.
No new death due to COVID-19 was reported in the last 24 hours, they said.
Of the cases, 14 were from Jammu division and 43 from Kashmir division.
Srinagar district recorded the highest 27 cases, which included seven travellers, officials said.
While seven districts – Bandipora, Shopian, Samba, Kathua, Rajouri, Poonch and Reasi — did not report any new case, the remaining 12 districts recorded new cases in single digits, the officials said.
The number of active cases in the Union Territory stands at 748, while 1,21,822 patients have recovered so far, the officials said.
No new death due to the virus was reported in the past 24 hours. The death toll in Jammu and Kashmir stands at 1,936, they added.
According to the daily Media Bulletin, out of 124506 positive cases, 721 are Active Positive, 121822 have recovered and 1936 have died; 721 in Jammu division and 1215 in Kashmir division.
The Bulletin further said that out of 4544387 test results available, 4419881 samples have been tested as negative till 31stJanuary, 2021.
Till date 1123009 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 34203 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 748 in isolation and 97734 in home surveillance. Besides, 988388 persons have completed their surveillance period.
