Amarinder playing to the gallery: Chugh

CHANDIGARH: Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh is playing to the gallery with his double standards, said BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh on Sunday.
In a statement Chugh said Amarinder had been first supporting elements like Deep Sidhu and Lakha Sidhana to incite violence in the name of farmers and later dubbing them as BJP supporters. “This is Amarinder’s cheap gimmickry to fool people of Punjab and please his political masters”, he said.
Reacting to the Chief Minister’s observation on the army, Chugh said nobody had forgotten the way Congress had used the Army for Operation Blue Star.
He said Amarinder comes from the same political party which has been questioning big achievements of the Indian Army including the Balakot strikes. His then cabinet member Navjot Sidhu had ridiculed the Army action and Amarinder did nothing about it.
Chugh said Amarinder should stop dragging Army for his petty political reasons and should focus on all the pledges he has made with Gutka Sahib in hands to the people of Punjab. “Amarinder’s lessons in Punjabiyat are also too shallow for words after his role during the SYL digging when he offered silver spade for the purpose to Indira Gandhi”, Chugh said adding that he was no less a Punjabi who has worked for peace and progress of the state.
